He received a visit from a family with a mentally handicapped eldest daughter. Her parents bore this trauma very supernaturally, and were greatly strengthened by hearing Saint Josemaría’s words and seeing how affectionately he treated their sick daughter. Afterwards he said to Father Javier Echevarria, who was with him: “Don’t forget: time will pass, I will have gone to render my account to God, and you can tell your brothers how you heard me saying that when suffering comes we love it, bless it, and turn it into a way of giving glory to God, always joyfully, which doesn’t mean we don’t find it hard.”
