St Josemaría heard in his soul, with an irresistible force that filled him with peace, the phrase
“Adeamus cum fiducia ad thronum gloriae, ut misericordiam consequamur!” (“Let us go with confidence to the throne of glory that we may obtain mercy!” Cf. Hebrews 4:16.) He said afterwards, “This morning, at breakfast, our Lord put these words into my head. They are like a reply to the collective clamor which must have gone up to heaven yesterday, the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, because everyone was praying so much. We have to appeal to our Lord’s mercy as we pray.”
