During a gathering in Peru he took his rosary out of his pocket, showed it to the people there and kissed the medals on it. In 1932 he had written: “When I say the Rosary (…) I contemplate the mysteries of the life, passion and death of our Lord Jesus Christ, taking part actively in the deeds and events, as a witness, a servant and a companion of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.”
