Feast of Saint Monica, the mother of Saint Augustine. On one occasion Saint Josemaría said to a mother who was worried because her son had turned away from God: “Remember Saint Monica. Could anyone have gone further from God than Saint Augustine? But she, by praying, sometimes with tears, brought him back to God. And afterwards he became a great Bishop, a great Doctor of the Church. So your son can come back; he will come back! Not only that, but he’ll do a lot of good to others.”
