September 29, 2009 is the 70th anniversary of the publication in Spain of The Way, St Josemaria’s first book, a spiritual classic.

Since that first edition in 1939, it has been translated into many other languages, totaling over four and a half million copies.

St Josemaria, founder of Opus Dei, wrote for ordinary Christians, inviting them to embark on and sustain a personal friendship with God.
