I’ve been in Opus Dei since 1970, I met St Josemaria in Barcelona in 1972 and I have immense devotion to him. I’m now 90 and have an iron constitution.
However, on the way to Mass last Sunday I fell and broke my forearm. After Mass I went to hospital. They operated on it and put it in plaster. Forty-eight hours later I got home and went to bed. Suddenly I started shivering all over, and felt very cold indeed. It must have been because of resting at last after two days’ stress.
As I really needed to sleep I got up and fetched a picture of St Josemaria with a relic ex indumentis (from his clothes) and I kissed it and said, “Please, of course I’m offering everything up to God, but let me sleep a little.” I went back to bed, the shivering stopped, and I slept like a baby. Thank you, St Josemaria!
