June 22, 2011
News from Canada: The organist and composer Edith Beaulieu has presented a new organ composition of her own at the Church of the Canadian Martyrs, Quebec. She played the Missa Brevis no. 3, opus 6, for a Mass celebrated in honour of St Josemaria Escriva.
The work is neo-romantic in style and was composed for four mixed voices and an organ.
In 2008, Beaulieu, from Sainte-Foy in Canada, composed a Mass for the four hundredth anniversary of the city of Quebec. The composition was a notable success.
