Pope prays for flood victims of Thailand and Italy during Angelus

  October 31, 2011. (Romereports.com) During Sunday's Angelus, the pope prayed for the victims of the recent floods in Thailand and Italy.

“I want to express my closeness to the people of Thailand who were struck by the serious floods. Also, to Italians in the towns of Liguria and Tuscany, which were recently damaged by heavy rains."

The pope said the best way to help society is by supporting those who are close to us, and also by living an honest life.

“Christ urges us to combine humility with our charity and service toward our brothers and sisters. Indeed, may we always imitate His perfect example of service in our daily lives.”

The role teachers have in society, was also highlighted by the pope. He said they're called to be a true example for their students on a daily basis.
