Recital in Bolivia about ten witnesses of Jesus
September 8, 2009

On September 11 and 12, Catholic Charismatic Renewal will perform a recital of contemporary religious music entitled Witnesses, in the presence of the composer, Luis Alfredo Diaz. The piece is based on ten different figures representing different spiritualities: Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Pope John Paul II, Padre Pío, Cardenal Van Thuan, Josemaría Escriva, Brother Roger of Taizé, Edith Stein, Father Emiliano Tardif, Josephine Bakhita, and Maximilian Kolbe.
The conductor, Sergio Murillo, explains that the performance will combine music, song, video documentaries projected onto a screen, and live contemporary dance.

The orchestra and choir of Charismatic Renewal in Zona Sur (a suburb of La Paz, the capital) will perform the piece, in which each song’s words are taken from the writings of the individual witnesses. “Not a word has been changed or paraphrased.”
The performance will be held on September 11 and 12 at 19.30 in the concert-hall of the “House of Prayer”, Seventh Street, Nuevos Pinos district, Zona Sur. Entry is free.
Various Christian and Catholic groups will take part in the event, describing their own experiences and explaining their way of serving God.
