A city square in Santa Ana, El Salvador, has been dedicated to St Josemaria. It is situated at the junction of Nicolas Salume Boulevard and the former highway to San Salvador, the capital.

The aim is to spread deep, lasting devotion to St Josemaria, inviting present and future citizens to find God in their ordinary lives, work, family, relaxation and civic duties, as Opus Dei’s founder taught.

The project’s promoters also sought to give practical expression to their gratitude for material and spiritual favors received through St Josemaria’s intercession.

The sculpture (pictured) is the work of Miguel Rivera and the plans were drawn up by Douglas Gonzalez, a local architect.
