Between the fifth anniversary of St Josemaría’s canonization and the eightieth anniversary of his founding Opus Dei, a conference will be held in Westin Hotel, Long Beach, California, on Saturday February 2, 2008 around the theme of “sanctifying the world”.

Speakers at the St Josemaría Conference will engage in a positive dialogue with today’s culture on topics in which the Christian message is often contested or regarded as a stumbling-block: raising and educating children, family life, the influence of the media, sanctifying illness, and also what daily life with such a thoroughly human saint as St Josemaría was really like.

The conference brings together professionals in media, law and medicine and experts in family life to explore the world of professional work, contemporary culture and the challenges of marital and family life. Through a format of keynote talks followed by panel discussions and opportunities for questions and answers, this conference aims to facilitate serious dialogue between professionals who are personally striving to live out their Christian faith more fully in their daily lives.
