At a gathering in Barcelona on November 26 1972 St Josemaria talks of his short but intense visits to the shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes.
The last time St Josemaría went to Lourdes was October 1972. At that time the shrine was surrounded with the gold colours of autumn, and below the grotto the rushing sound of the River Gave could be heard like an intermittent song. St Josemaría walked quickly across the esplanade towards our Lady’s statue. He knelt down straight away and, as he so often did, opened up his loving heart to her, never tired of telling our Lady how much he loved her.
